Chairman's Room

Ar. Lau Chun Leong

Chairman,
PAM Sarawak Chapter 2026-2027

I am deeply honoured and humbled by the trust placed in me to serve as Chairman of the Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia Sarawak Chapter. I extend my sincere appreciation to our past chairmen and committee members whose dedication and perseverance have built a strong foundation for our profession in Sarawak.

Serving in PAMSC is a voluntary commitment, and I encourage more members, especially younger architects, to step forward and contribute to shaping a stronger and more progressive industry.

The passing of the Building Amendment Bill 2025 marks a significant milestone after years of collective effort. As we move forward, it is our responsibility to work closely with the authorities to ensure its effective implementation for the betterment of the built environment.

This year also marks PAMSC’s 50th anniversary, with key highlights including the PAMSC Design Festival 2026. I look forward to working with all members to strengthen our professional community and continue shaping a better future for Sarawak.

Architecture is not just about buildings — it is about shaping communities and the future. Together, let us uphold the values of our profession and create a built environment we can all be proud of.
