Renowned for his visionary contributions to Malaysia’s architectural landscape—including several iconic works in Sarawak—Ar. Hijjas has left an enduring legacy that continues to inspire generations of architects.
Widely acclaimed as the Father of Modern Malaysian Architecture and a pioneering figure in architectural education, he has shaped the profession for over five decades through practice, teaching, and mentorship. His remarkable achievements have earned him numerous national and international accolades, culminating in the Professor Emeritus title conferred by UiTM in 2025.
