MNSC – Recent Works in Kuching

mnsc architects was formed by Ming Ngi and SuhChee on August 2013; who have a deep passion for modernist architecture that creates dialogues between people and place. They share a vision to explore design possibilities and craft architectural outcomes that are meaningful for both their clients and the community. MNSC, whether as individuals or a team, have been very hands-on with their projects which ensure continual refinement of the ideas and building quality.

Tetawowe Atelier – Keynote Speaker

tetawowe atelier is a young and dynamic design firm specialized in creating design narratives; what is thought to be raw materials taken from the site’s existing rain trees, the geometrical shape of a site that is reminiscent of Miro’s artwork, the way the owners would spend their lazy afternoon, birds on the wire, dialogues between the river and passers-by, a Beatles song, a banal job site depicted in a kafkan dreamlike space – has been the source of inspiration for our design.

This CPD will examine the roles and responsibilities of the Architect under the Housing Development Act (Act 118 Peninsular Malaysia 2007) and the Sarawak Housing Ordinance (1993) and related regulations. It will cover an overview of the two sets of laws in force in West Malaysia and Sarawak and point out the major differences. A brief outline of the certification process under the housing acts and ordinances and the management of quality in relation to this certification is reviewed. Managing common defects and complaint is also considered.
