This year, PAMSC DESIGN FESTIVAL (PDF) will be held at Theatre Hotel, Kuching, Sarawak, in conjunction with World Architecture Day (WAD) 2024. Spanning over 2/3 days, the festival will feature the following key events:

PAMSC collaborates with other associations and private entities to add value to our participants and members throughout the festival and to enhance PAMSC’s public and community engagement:

Trade Expo

TRADE EXPO is a vehicle for our industry partners; suppliers of construction material and expertise to participate in our festival. Their booths will be in the pre-function space of the Design Forum, and serve as opportunity for networking with practitioners as well as members of the public.

PAMSC Member's cum Networking Night

PAMSC MEMBERS’ CUM NETWORKING NIGHT is the precursor to the Design Forum, it takes place on Friday night for PAMSC members, their staff, sponsors, suppliers and our invited guests. It is the venue for practitioners to meet with the forum speakers and more importantly, it is for the architects to meet with their peers from out-of-town. We are aware of the additional expense needed for our fellow architects and PAMSC members from Miri, Sibu, Sarikei and Bintulu to travel to the Festival.

As such, the Design Forum fees have customarily been kept low (less than RM 400), in return our members are entitled to 10 CPD points for the whole festival (subject to LAM’s approval)

Experience Sarawak Photography Exhibition

EXPERIENCE SARAWAK PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION showcases the winning and shortlisted entries from the SCACA photography contest, held from May 2024 to July 2024. These photographs beautifully capture the significant and meaningful moments of Saawak's culture and built environment.

University Best Project Competition

Often, students find themselves with limited opportunities to engage directly with seasoned professionals in the field. This competition aims to bridge that gap by offering them a unique chance to connect with and present their work to a diverse group of practicing architects.

Additionally, this competition significantly enhances students' visibility and opens up potential employment opportunities. By impressing a panel of esteemed architects, participants can make a lasting impression that may lead to internships, mentorships, or even job offers.

Secondary Students Model Competition

SECONDARY STUDENTS MODEL COMPETITION aims to allowed the participants to explore and express their ideas on place making with a focus on environmental awareness. This event will offer a platform for young minds to showcase their creativity, vision, contributing to the broader discussion on how place-making can be approached at different stages of education and development, with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.
