Wan Tiong Hing - Profile-001

Mr. Wan Tiong Hing
Technical Development Manager

Wan Tiong Hing holds a Degree in Civil Engineering and has previously worked in the field of fire protection industry which involved in research and development of system for 15 years.
Wan started working for Saint-Gobain Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in November 2013 where he held the position of Technical Development Manager providing technical support activities covering both Malaysia & Singapore. Apart from his heavy involvement in system development for Gyproc, he also frequently conduct training program to both internal staffs and external parties such as contractors, dealers, specifiers, etc.

Common perception believes that building materials such as concrete blocks, bricks, pre-cast panel etc. are best suit for wet prone areas i.e. bath room and kitchen. Drywall construction is a growing building technique nowadays gaining fast popularity amongst builders, specifiers and installers due to vast attributes it could benefit from. Despite its lightweight and flexible features, use of drywall, particularly gypsum based plasterboard, would generally raise doubt over its durability and functionality when confronting with moisture. Through its research and development efforts, Gyproc continues to promote the best practices in drywall application at wet areas, as well as exploring and introducing innovative building material that would address the most concern performance of gypsum plasterboard – moisture resistance and load carrying capacity. These concerns shall be addressed by Gyproc Glasroc® H & Habito® board, with information highlighting on design considerations, good practices, product features and selection, as well as construction details which could be served as valuable reference into future.
