This paper reflects on the architects duties and functions during the contract implementation phase of a building project. The architect’s critical role during this phase is defined firstly, by his professional obligations to his client, which would be prescribed in the Client/Architect Agreement, and secondly, by the provisions in the building contract (PAM Form) between the employer and the contractor.
